Oh, the weather outside is... getting better!

Wow! What a week so far. It started on Monday afternoon and I left work early. I called Boyd to see where he was (his school let out at 1:00 p.m.) and he was at his dad's. When I got there he showed me our new baby calf. Of course one was born during the beginning of the nasty weather. We tried to get them set up pretty good for the night with shelter. We made it home and then sleet and ice started. We didn't lose electricity the first night thank goodness. I thought we might.

Then on Tuesday it was still so nasty and still sleeting. My brother came and got us in his four wheel drive truck and took us up to check on the cows and baby calf. He/she made it though the night and we were surprised so we named the calf "Stormy". It was doing really good and it has a really good momma. Then we went home and played games for a while. Then Tuesday evening I was laying in bed, trying to keep warm, and reading a book. Boyd came in and checked on me and all of the sudden the lights went out. Oops!! So I lit all the candles I had and it gave us a little light. The potatoes I had in the crockpot though was a waste of time. Boyd went and got his old lantern and lit it. We do have a little propane heater that Boyd hasn't used in years, but it worked. I was scared of the carbon monoxide but he called my dad and he wasn't worried. I thought we might end up in heaven at the same time by morning!!! But we made it through the night fine. We had a make-shift bed in the living room by the heater. And we still had our cook stove.

The next morning I got up around 6:30 a.m. and called my mom. (Yes, my dear husband still has a rotary dial phone, so we had a phone still.) I went outside to feed the animals and there was Jason Crouch (a guy from our church) on the pole in our field. By the time I got through feeding, our electricity was on. Jason has now become my hero, but don't tell him! ha!! So first thing we did was turn on the t.v. to see what was going on. Then called my brother and he came and got us AGAIN. We went and fed and "Stormy" was still going strong. When we got back home we cleaned off our cars. Man did that take a while. We hadn't messed with them since Monday might so it seemed like forever trying to get things thawed enough to remove all the ice. We played some more games and I'm sorry to say the whole time we were playing, I NEVER one a game. Boyd says I'm a violent opponent. I was mocking him and throwing my pen at him. I was even keeping score, and I still lost! ha!! That evening I went for a walk but man it's hard to walk in the ice/snow, so I decided to see if I could get around in my HHR. I did a pretty good job, but didn't venture to far off. I was kind of chicken. I went back inside and walked my mile in the comfort of my living room. Gotta love "Walk Away the Pounds"! ha!

So today, I made it in to work with no problem. The road was still pretty slick, but there were patches of pavement so my HHR went pretty good. It's been a busy day, but that always makes the day go by faster.

Trinity update: As I was saying/whining on Monday afternoon, the doctor had given Trinity a new medication and well, it cleaned her little system out really good and then again yesterday. So maybe this is what she was needing. I pray this helps her and she can get back to normal. Thanks for all your prayers for her. Well, I better close this for now. Take Care and have a good night!!

New Doctor please!

Nothing new to report today about Trinity except for I think we need a new doctor. Trinity went to the doctor again today and she is giving her yet another medicine to try! ah!!!!!! Surely this doctor doesn't have any children, or else she would do SOMETHING!! Ok, vent over...thanks!

Friday night I went and saw Trinity because her birthday was Saturday and I couldn't wait that long to give her birthday present to her. She was so excited. I got her a princess "real" camera. She was psyched. Except for the part when she kept looking at the back of the camera for the picture to appear. KK's not rich. Sorry. No digital camera for you. Cracked me up that she had never seen a camera that actually used film. Anyway, she is such a cutie.

Today is her brother Zachary's birthday. He's 11. It just does not seem possible. It just seems like yesterday that he took his KK on a date. He was only 4 but he was such a gentleman. I told Boyd that he had a lot to live up too after my date with Zach.

I'll update you more a little later! Be safe in this winter weather we may be getting.

Frustration!

Trinity is still not feeling good. They came by to see me before her doctor appointment. She didn't get up until noon and ate 6 animal crackers, then by the time she got here at 2:30 she wanted to take a nap. Anyway, they went to the doctor and while they were waiting for the doctor Trin fell asleep on the table. She now has a double ear infection. She was on antibiotics for an ear infection, but now has 2. The new med they gave her will cause diarrhea, so maybe that will help. If she is not better by Monday at her next appointment, the doctor is going to find her a pediatric GI guy in Columbia. Sheila has the doctor's home number in case anything goes wrong this weekend. Please continue to pray for her and Sheila.

Boyd went to the doctor today too, but they said he's just mean and honery so there's nothing they can do for him. Ha!! Seriously though, he has allergy issues. I think he might be allergic to me so I told him to feel free to sleep in the wellhouse if he needed too. ha!!!

If you remember the oldest foster daughter I had, Megan. It's her birthday today. I sent her a message through a friend and this is a picture of her looking at. She's so sweet. I'm thankful they are around close so I can check on them.

Still Looking for Answers

Well, Trinity's Urologist appointment did not go so well. Dr. Pearson who is in the Meyer Cancer Center in Springfield, is a real jerk. So don't ever use him. He told Sheila that she would have to retrain Trin how to go potty. Well, that's not the issue, the issue is that nothing comes out when she tries. She doesn't even have BM's but the Doctor told her that wasn't his problem. Ahhh!! Sheila was so upset. Anyway, I'm not really sure what the next step is, but I'll try to keep you updated. I spoke with Sheila at lunch and she said that Trinity woke up crying with her stomach and asked if she could just stay in bed today. I feel so bad for her and I am so frustrated and thankful all at the same time. I'm very glad they have found nothing wrong with her, but still frustrated she's not better. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Her Granny and Papa left today to go back home so she's (along with the rest of us) missing them too.

Last night, Boyd and I went to a HS game at Bradleyville. All 3 teams won so that was pretty exciting. We sat with Kelvin & Mel Whittaker and our Pastor and his wife, Jeff and Cindy Marsh so we had to be on our best behavior. ha!!! It was fun seeing a lot of our family and friends. 2 of my cousins play on the girls team and 1 cousin on the boy team, so that was fun watching them play. It seems ballgames are the only place I see my Uncle Steve & Aunt Carol. So sad!! But it's always good to catch up.

Work hasn't been too bad. We have the door open and we are enjoying the sunshine. Not too bad for January 21st, huh?

Well, I better get with it. Have a great evening!

Update

Ok, so let's see. I left on Thursday early because I had some CT scans scheduled. CT's went fine and there is nothing wrong, everything looks normal. I did make the mistake of mentioning the fact that "they didn't find anything" to my brothers, so boy did the enjoy making comments about that. I got there early and they got me out by the time my actual appointment was. So I was psyched. I made it back to Taneyville to watch my nephew Zach play ball. They won their game! YEA!! Then it was my husband's team next and we won as well. Woohoo!!! Trinity also got her results back from the ultrasound and the catheter test and everything was normal! Yea, again!

Then Friday I worked outside in the snow. It was awesome! Boyd came home early because of the snow. That was an extra treat! But it made Friday nights game a little more stressful. Do we play, or do we forfeit. Well, we played. Unfortunately 2 of our starters were not able to be there to play for first place, but the girls played hard. We lost, but still got 2nd place. Yea, us. The girls were excited to get a trophy and I think Coach Combs was pleased as well. Then Zach played next for Plainview. They played against Thornfield and it was such a close game, but Plainview one by one point. Hooray!! Zach did a good job. KK had to holler at the refs a couple of times, because Zach was being fouled and it was not going over too well with me.

Saturday we got up and headed to see Boyd's mom and she made us a fantastic lunch. Yummy!! We hung out there for a bit and then we went and saw Elva, Sharon, and Quentin. We had such a good time. Quentin is soooo cute and talks ninety to nothin'. He loves his "unka boy and KK". Then we headed to Branson to see Caleb open some presents. He had a good time. We also got to see Jessica and Ryan too. Oh, and Rob and Carrie! ha!! We played carpet ball in the basement and had a good time. If you've never played carpet ball, you're missing out. It's a blast.

This is Caleb's smile! So funny!!! We then had to go to Target and then to Wal-Mart. We didn't get home until 12:30 that night. So we were beat.

Sunday we went to church. We had a great service and our little Sunday School class was so much fun. We had to change rooms because a really sweet lady at our church is painting a Noah's Ark mural on our wall and it is not finished yet. We don't mind waiting, it will be worth it. After church we headed home to eat. Then Elva and Quentin came by. "unka Boy and Popie" went fishing and Quentin stayed and played with me. We went outside to see all the animals and went up to the church to play on the playground. KK was tired, not so sure about Quentin. He was so much fun and he's only 2 but carried on an adult conversation with you. So cute. Here he is playing at the playground.

Then Sunday evening my parents came in. We headed to Ron and Sheila's so they could check on Trinity themselves. She didn't know they were coming so she was so excited to see Papa and Granny. We stayed there until bed time then dad and mom came back to our house to spend the night.

We got up at 5:00 the next morning and dad, mom, and I met Ron, She, and Trin at the office where she had her upper GI done. She did so good and drank that nasty stuff before the test and then laid so still for the testing. They took pictures several times and she was so patient. Now, papa, granny, and KK in the waiting room were not so thrilled. But Henry and Lorene Lawrence were there too, so we got a lot of talking in. So that was a neat time. Keep Henry and Lorene in your prayers too! Thanks!

Well after all that work Trinity did, she wanted to eat at Lamberts. We were happy to oblige. Although, that place did not do to well for my diet I'm suppose to be on for my Diabetes. But I didn't eat the roll or the fried okra that I wanted really bad. I did have a few fried potatoes, but that's not too bad. And Trinity and papa shared a couple of rolls, she ate some of her chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and some of KK's walnut salad. Then mom and I went to Wal-Mart and got some things for supper. We went over to Ron and Sheila's and the kids got off the bus and we started supper. Well, mom started supper. I was to busy watching Joh, Kate, plus 8. We don't have cable so I've never seen this show before. LOVE IT!!! Anyway, we had a good time. Boyd came over but he was not feeling well and I had a bad headache, so we called it a day and went home. We watched a movie and waited on mom and dad to get home. Then we all went to bed and we were up again today at 6:00. Now, it's back to the normal routine.

Trinity has an appointment with the Uriologist today. I'll let you know when I hear something.

Take Care!

God is SO Good!!

Since my last blog, they had sent Trin to Skaggs for blood work because there was some discussion of Leukemia. Well, we've been down that road with my dad, so that was a little scary.

Sheila just called and Trinity's blood came back normal. Hallelujah!!! Now they are going to schedule an upper GI and she will still have her appointment with the Urologist next week. We are so thankful that there is no sign of cancer in her body. Now if we can just find the source of her problems, that would be awesome!!!

I went to see her last night, because it would make me feel better to be able to hug her. Don't know that it helped her at all, but sure helped me. Anyway, she ate pretty good and played some. She still looks so pale, it made me sad. Anyway, she has a pop up princess tent and a pop up school bus, so we played that for a while. I was the driver and took the "princess" to school several times. And picked up a few passengers (Zach and McKenna) along the way. Even though she's not feeling good she still has her hilarious attitude. Last night Zach and McKenna were her "children" and Zach was being a little mouthy and Trin put her finger up in the air and moved it back and forth while she said "Son, don't you talk to me like that". Hmmm...wonder where's she's heard that. And her favorite swimmer is Michael "Phillips"! She did my heart good last night just to be in her presence.

Well, I'm leaving in a bit for my CT scan's. Yipee! Honestly, not concerned about them at all. Mainly my focus is on Trinity right now. Anyway, I'm going to try and hustle back for Boyd's game at 7:00 tonight. We'll see if I can make that happen. Zach plays before Boyd's team, so would be nice to make part of his too, but really don't want any speeding tickets. I guess I work at the right place, if I do get one.

We were going to go with Boyd's brother and sis-in-law (Elva & Sharon) to the Tournament of Champions, but I guess Boyd's job comes first. Rats!! That would've been a lot of fun and we haven't been able to see them in a while. Was hoping to see our little great nephew Quentin too, but another time, hopefully soon!

Saturday evening we are planning on going to my brother Rob's house and watch my nephew Caleb open up some Christmas presents that we brought back from Oklahoma. Anyway, haven't seen them in a while, so I'm looking forward to that.

Today is my Friday, so probably won't be able to blog again until Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Thanks for your prayers for our niece!

Trinity Alice

Hello again! Just wanted to give you an update on Trinity. She is headed back to the doctor right now with a fever and earache on top of everything else she is going through. We are not sure what is going on inside of her little body. She has been on and is still on antibiotics and they say they can't find an infection in her body (then why the fever and why aren't the antibiotics helping). She even had a shot of antibiotics last week. She just does not feel good at all and it's hard to see that sweet little girl hurting. Please pray for her and for Ron and Sheila. This is hard on them as well. We have faith that Jesus will heal her, but His timing is not always our own. Thanks so much! I'll keep you updated.

New Blogger

Well, this is my first blog and I have no idea what I'm doing. I hope to learn more as I go along, so bare with me.

Today my niece Trinity had some tests done and she was a real trooper. The won't know any results of the tests until they meet with the Urologist on Tuesday. Hopefully they will find out what's going on with her and give her something to make her feel better. She's been such a sick little girl.

Tomorrow I have to go and have a CT scan done of my head. I had one done in August of 2007 and I told everyone that Boyd made me do it before he would marry me. Just to be sure I had a brain! ha! Anyway, I'm sure nothing is wrong but having headaches for 8 weeks is a long time. I did get my hair cut off and that has seemed to help. We shall see.

My husband Boyd is in full swing with peewee Basketball. It's so fun to watch the kids play. I get cracked up with Boyd because he is so into it. And has somewhat of a temper. He likes to throw his clipboard down on the floor when he gets mad and it really makes a loud crack! Too funny!!! He has the kids fooled, but now his book keeper! ha!

Well, I better close for now. I'll let you know as I get in results from all these tests.
